Group legal plans assist with routine legal issues. Countrywide Pre-Paid Legal Services is no exception and we are proud of the benefit options we provide. However, there are services we do not routinely offer. We will provide referrals in those cases.
The Law Is Diverse
Writing wills and helping with consumer protection are among the benefits our nationwide network of attorneys gives. Jurisprudence has many specialized areas such as adoption, divorce, and immigration. A group legal plan member may be better served by an attorney who concentrates on a specialized area.
The Referral Process
We will make a referral when it becomes obvious that a Countrywide attorney cannot provide services required by a plan member. Referrals are not random calls for assistance. Countrywide has a group of specialized attorneys when we need their expertise. These lawyers agree to certain terms and stipulations:
- A Countrywide plan member receives a 25% discount on hourly and scheduled rates.
- Contingency fees have a 10% discount from the standard contingency percentages the referral attorney normally charges.
- There are no hidden costs, fees, or charges.
Although these attorneys have a reputation for integrity and advice, we do not take any chances. We insist that each member of the referral group submit a fee schedule as part of the agreement. We compared the schedule against what is charged to be certain our group legal plan members are not cheated.
We pay attention to the fees because we know that the referral attorneys are going to charge higher than ordinary. It is part of our pre-paid legal services that we inspect the actual charges, making sure the final bill is only for services rendered.

We also permit our lawyers to write letters and make telephone calls on behalf of the group legal plan member. The attention we provide for all our plan members, combined with superior pre-paid legal services, are the primary reasons why Countrywide is considered one of the leaders in the industry. We have been offering these services since 1987, and we intend to be doing this for organizations in all the years to come.
We would not do a referral for the ordinary services Countrywide offers. A referral is a special case and we consider it to be something out of the ordinary. Nevertheless, Countrywide is committed to making sure that the very best service is provided to all plan members. The objective is to provide quality service and we insist on that from any referral.
